Landscape Design

A good landscape design of a property integrates aesthetic desire with horticultural, practical, and environmentally sustainable components. This is achieved by carefully considering and analyzing specific site factors such as architecture, topography, soils and other environmental factors. All of Bella Terra Landscapes’ designs carefully consider proper site analysis to come up with a solution which best fits the challenge.

Landscape designs are divided into two groups: hardscape design and softscape design.

Hardscape

The hardscape design considers all the hard surfaces of the landscape, such as patios, retaining walls, sidewalks, decks, landscape lighting and other landscape accessories such as fireplaces and fire pits. Foot traffic and how a family would use each component is carefully considered and is important in its placement and orientation. There are several options for materials when considering hardscapes. Bella Terra Landscapes has many years of experience in all types of hardscape applications. In our five years of existence, we have put together projects ranging from dry-laid permeable paver sidewalks to wet-laid patterned bluestone patios.

Softscape

The softscape design considers all plant material and its placement. One of the many benefits of plants is their four seasons of interest, which can prolong the beautification of a property’s landscape, steering it away from its once-a-year “kodak moment’. We at Bella Terra Landscapes are continuously attending seminars to educate ourselves about new plant trends and varieties which are frequently introduced to the industry.
